The York Simcoe Battalion 1885
The York Simcoe Battalion was formed in March 1885 to Go to the Northwest Territories to put down the Riel Rebellion. It was formed of 4 Companies from the 35th Simcoe Foresters and 4 Companies of the 12th York Battalion under Lt Col William Edward O’Brien commanding officer of the 35th Simcoe Foresters.
