Lt Col William Edward O’Brien ( March 10, 1831-December 21,1914) Commanding officer 35th Simcoe Foresters from 1882 to 1897. Honorary Colonel 35th from 1897 to 1914. Commanding officer York Simcoe Battalion during the 1885 Riel Rebellion. He represented Muskoka and Parry Sound in the Canadian House of Commons from 1882-1896 as a Conservative.
